Coca-Cola bottler aims for 100% accuracy with vision picking
Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) is one of the world’s largest Coca-Cola bottlers. It uses TeamViewer Frontline augmented reality (AR) solutions to improve picking and other key processes.
Coca-Cola HBC operates 54 plants on three continents and makes and bottles all Coca-Cola products. They wanted to improve their picking accuracy. With the high volumes they ship, even a 0.1% error rate can lead to 1,000 wrong deliveries, resulting in 1,000 customer complaints.
Wrong deliveries mean a lot more than unhappy customers. They also cost a lot. Rejected orders have to be returned to the warehouse, and a new order has to be shipped, resulting in a spike in logistics-handling costs.
Warehouse operators previously used paper lists or tablets mounted on pallet jacks and radio frequency (RF) scanners. These are prone to error.
Coca-Cola HBC's decision to switch to vision picking wholly changed this situation. After only two months, the picking accuracy reached 99.9%. This means increased productivity and accuracy and reduced handling costs.
Operators tried pick-by-voice solutions. But they didn't cut it on the warehouse floor. What did was TeamViewer Frontline Pick.
The way of warehousing will never be the same again.
✔ Picking accuracy reached 99.9% after two months
✔ Picking performance increased by 6–8%
✔ Easy scalability across global locations
✔ Speedy onboarding of new staff
✔ Warehouse operators are very happy with Frontline
