Samsung's logistics provider increases picking speed by up to 30% in Breda, NL
Samsung SDS is one of the top global logistics companies, with over 6,300 logistics experts in 36 countries. They run Samsung's spare part operation in Europe from its facility in Breda, Netherlands, and wanted to improve order picking.
Samsung SDS wanted a technology that allowed its workers to focus better on picking goods. The Breda logistics team looked at ways to improve productivity and accuracy. The old method used handheld scanners, so teams often had to use one hand for picking. Vision picking with augmented reality (AR) was the solution.
Now, vision picking with AR guides workers through visual cues in their sight. It also makes picking easier by keeping both hands free for the task.
Samsung SDS and TeamViewer launched the AR vision-picking platform TeamViewer Frontline in the Breda warehouse in less than four weeks. The solution provides all the information workers need while picking and connects to the warehouse database. Workers now do 25–30% more picks per hour with fewer errors. It also increases job satisfaction by improving working conditions.
“We had a challenging timeframe to implement the new solution but because of the collaboration between TeamViewer and ourselves we were able to deliver in under four weeks.”
