An ageing population. Uniting supports the residents of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and New South Wales (NSW). Over 8.5 million people reside between ACT and NSW. Of this, at least 22% are over the age of 65, a figure set to grow significantly in years to come.
A sprawling client list. Providing care to clients based across 803,000 km2 adds even more complexity to Uniting’s job. Providing timely care to those based in rural and remote areas can be logistically difficult.
Untimely care. Delays in vital care due to logistical issues can leave residents vulnerable. The delay in providing necessary care affects their health. This, in turn, puts additional strain on healthcare providers.
Recruitment challenges. A workforce spread thin. A logistical conundrum. Deteriorating well-being among ageing adults. These elements not only put pressure on the current Uniting team but also make it difficult to recruit new aged-care workers.
An organization in need of support. Uniting needed a solution that could address the long-term issue of skills and remote consumers. More than that, it needed a provider driven by innovation. One that allowed Uniting to provide the best clinical care to consumers, no matter the circumstances.
